AVIATION ASSESSMENT PRE-ENTRY ASSESSMENT TEST

The Aviation Assessment Pre-entry test is not an application to the program. You must submit a Full-Time application to the Admissions department for the AIRLINE & FLIGHT OPERATIONS DIPLOMA PROGRAM. The Pre-entry Aviation Assessment Test is one of several entrance requirements that must be completed successfully in order to be considered for selection into the Airline & Flight Operations program.

The test fee is $70.00. The fee must be paid in advance to:

BCIT Cashier Office (next to Registration and Admissions)
Main Campus, 3700 Willingdon Ave., Burnaby
Bldg SW1, 1st floor, Room 1306

You will be given a receipt upon payment, which must be presented to the testing coordinator at the time you write the pre-test. Duplicate receipts will not be issued.

Cashier Hours: 8:30am – 7:00pm Monday-Thursday (Sep-May), 8:30am – 4:30pm (Jun, Jul, Aug)
8:30am – 4:30pm Friday
8:30am – 12:30pm Saturday (Sep-May only)
(Closed Sundays and holidays)

Out-of-town applicants may make payment by personal cheque or money order (payable to BCIT) to the Trades Administration Office, Attention: Reception, BCIT, 3700 Willingdon Ave., NE1-308, Burnaby, BC, V5G 3H2.

WHERE CAN I WRITE THE PRE-ENTRY TEST(S)?

Were and When:

Any Tuesday or Thursday morning at 9:00am
Room 340 Bldg NE1 J.W. Inglis Bldg
BCIT Burnaby Campus
No appointment is necessary

**Residents outside of the Lower Mainland may phone the Trades Learning Centre at 604-451-6832 to make arrangements to write the test at a local college or high school (additional fees may be charged by the host).

WHAT KIND OF TEST WILL I WRITE?

An assessment of your English vocabulary and comprehension, general mathematical competence (calculators are permitted) and spatial perception. Be prepared to spend 2 ½ hours to complete the test.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING WITH ME TO WRITE THE TEST?

You will need RECEIPT OF PAYMENT and PICTURE IDENTIFICATION (e.g. Driver’s Licence, Passport, etc.) a PEN or PENCIL, and a NON-PROGRAMMABLE CALCULATOR.

WHEN WILL I KNOW THE RESULTS OF MY TEST?

Your test will be marked right after you write it and you will know whether you passed it before you leave.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T PASS A TEST?

If you fail the test you may write it again within 2 months at no additional charge, but you must present your original receipt. In addition, if you do not pass the test, you might qualify to take one of our upgrading programs. Ask the Test Supervisor for details.
