Frequently
asked questions about financing:
Do
I have to pay for my flight training up front?
Absolutely
not. All flying is arranged on a pay as you fly basis. The
majority of students and members pay for each flight flown. Payment
can be by cash, cheque, Direct Debit, Visa, Mastercard, or American
Express. Some students prefer to put a lump sum on account and
fly it off. We strongly advise that students be wary of any flight
training institution that insists on a large amount up front.
What
loans are available for Commercial Flight Training?
The
government has student loans available for Commercial, Multi-IFR, and
Instructor training. You must submit an application obtained from
the Club along with a copy of your Private Pilot Licence and Category
1 medical. A student cannot apply for these loans until they have
completed their PPL. The amount of funding available ranges from
$3,400 to $4,420 depending on the legth of study. Full time study
is required.
